History

Salon Familia was founded by Olinda Soria in 1999. She wasn’t a hairdresser and didn't like going to salons very much. She longed for a salon with terrific and talented stylists in a warm environment that also welcomed families. Over the years, Salon Familia has built a family of loyal clients in the surrounding Chevy Chase neighborhood and beyond.

In 2019, Olinda and family moved to California and transitioned the salon ownership to two longtime stylists of Salon Familia, Nini Pham and Kim Tran. They both have over 20 years of cosmetology experience and 10 years of management experience.

As a woman and minority owned business, Salon Familia continually strives to deliver the best hair and nail services to our clients!

Our logo

We often get questions about the Salon Familia logo. It was designed in 1999 by a local Chevy Chase artist and reflects the family experience we provide at our salon. In fact, some of the art and decor you see in our salon were also custom created by the same artist. We’re proud to support local artists and unique shops in our neighborhood and hope you’ll check them out before or after your visit!
